More Sadness

I read this over at 21st Century Mom's page. Apparently the Dept of Homeland Security forbid the Red Cross from entering into New Orleans to feed anyone or give them water because that would encourage people to stay in New Orleans and not evacuate. They claim it would also attract more people to the city. Here is an idea: if they would have fed the hungry, maybe that would have given them the strength/sanity/hope to wait for the buses that never came. Knowing the Red Cross, they would have been there immediately, not five days later.
